Market cache import FAQ

I trade on 2 accounts on the same pc. I just fire up the eve client twice and alt-tab between them. Is EVE Mentat able to deal with that and still get the cache reading right?

It’s ok. Cache reader correctly reads market data from all instances of EVE Online client.

Cache market reader doesn’t work for 100%: sometimes it imports less files than were scanned

Cache importer skips market positions which were not changed in whole region (no sell/buy transactions at all) since the last update. Therefore such orders are marked as not up to date. It’s known issue of EVE Online’s cache implementation and cannot be fixed.

    Question about this statement:

    “Cache importer skips market positions which were not changed in whole region (no sell/buy transactions at all) since the last update. Therefore such orders are marked as not up to date. It’s known issue of EVE Online’s cache implementation and cannot be fixed.”

    Does this include price changes as well as buy/sell transactions? Cache import would be kinda’ useless for me if EVE’s API didn’t cache files when there was a change in a price. Thanks.

    @kronnek
    Any change (either price or quantity) invalidates cached marked data for a whole region.

    would clearing the cache file before running scans force it to update all orders ?

    @Jamie
    Yes, but you should restart your EVE client everytime you want to scan market.

    ok, confirming that deleting the folder that stores market data fixes the issue and means each time you run IGB scan it updates all data.

    may i suggest that the cleanup drop down tab in market browser include the contents of cachedmethodcalls in cache files please.

    would still need restart of eve as far as i can see with my tests, but would save time, rather than having to do it manually.

    @Jamie
    No, it’s against EVE Online EULA.
