In game browser unable to open url generated by EVE Mentat and reports “Error loading requested URL Error Code: -6″

Solutions:

  • In game browser doesn’t support non-latin symbols in path. Move EVE Mentat to new location without such symbols

    @Thart
    Well, forget about it, that was because i changed the directory of the .exe and i didn’t update the URL in IGB.
    Sorry, but thanks for the great job !

    The in-game browser loads up the IGB URL just fine, but when I try to import from eve directory it gives me an error code 255, in addition I’m noting that the market cache folder in the eve mentat directory is empty and doesn’t ever have any files in it. I’m not tech savvy so my money is doing something incorrectly.

    I started using Mentat 2 days ago. yesterday I only had 2 buy orders and 2 sell orders – I was able to bring them into Mentat via IGB with no problems.

    Today, my 2 sell orders were completed and they were moved to the history tab when i updated via the IGB browser. However, the 8 new buy orders were added to the buy tab or shown on the list of orders on the market Scanner: character orders page.

    Please point me to a solution and thank you for your time! This tool is very exciting!

    @Gulf Good news is now the orders are showing in Mentat correctly! I am not sure what my problem was – perhaps there is a delay between when the order is created and when Mentat can ‘see’ it…

    Off to make ISK!

    @Gulf
    Please take into account API calls caching time. It’s server’s feature.

    How do you get the IGB page used in the game to update the list of items to scan? It’s only listing the items from the very first time I used it, it doesn’t reflect any new buy/sell orders I’ve placed since then on any of my trading alts.

    @yap Actually, it looks like it is updating, but only for 1 character, not the 2nd character I’ve added in, so I’m guessing that the IGB will only be updated for the first character you add.

    @yap
    Ensure that IGB link points to your actual copy of EVE Mentat.
    Also refresh pages after changes in EVE Mentat.

    @Thart I have and did, but when I add orders to my first character, then do API and market file imports, the stuff listed in the IGB market scanner does not update.

    You should activate character and then update IGB page.
    IGB market scanner displays market only for active character.

    @Thart yeah, looking at the active character. I think I see what the problem is, it’s an issue with he EVE IGB. If I go to the market scanner URL link in a normal browser I can see that’s been updating, but for some reason the page as displayed by the IGB in the EVE client is not updating. I even cleared out the IGB cache and it’s still displaying an old copy of the HTML file rather than what’s really there.

    I even quit the EVE client and started it back up again, the IGB is still showing an old version of the MarketScanner.html webpage instead of what’s really there.

    one thing I should mention is I’m running multiple accounts/clients from the same EVE client location (C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE).

    figured it out. I’m using Windows 7 64 bit, and I was starting the EVE clients from pinned shortcut on the taskbar. I killed the clients and went to the start menu for them, then used Run As Administrator to start them and it’s working correctly now, both of them are getting the correct Market Scanner web page.

    When using the IGB Market scanner, without fail, the IGB stops retreiving information at some point on the list (always roughly halfway). The browser continues to go down the list but stops pulling any market data. any solution?

    @Andres
    You must not set interval less than 3 sec. Otherwise EVE blocks market scanner after Nth attempt to call market function too fast.
